WHS Theatre Boosters is a non-profit, alumni-led 501(c)(3) organization committed to supporting the WHS Dance and Theatre Department. Through fundraising and volunteer efforts, we work to enhance performing arts opportunities and enrich the educational experience of all student participants.


What we do

We’re the WHS Theatre Boosters — a spirited, alumni-run non-profit of former theatre kids who still live for the spotlight (and a good set build!). Our mission is to support the Woonsocket High School Theatre Department by raising funds and building connections through fun, community-centered events. From lively bingo nights and our annual craft fair to unforgettable alumni shows, we’re all about keeping the stage lights on and bringing the community together to celebrate the arts. Once part of the cast, always part of the family!

  • President

    Theatre at WHS has given me more than I could ever put into words. It brought me some of my closest friends, not just during high school, but long after I graduated as I kept coming back to help with the shows. Every time I stepped backstage, it felt like I had never really left. Being part of the behind-the-scenes magic—costumes, makeup, quick changes, and all the beautiful creative chaos, it taught me how much passion, teamwork, and love go into bringing a show to life.

    This program shaped me in ways I’m still grateful for today. It gave me confidence, lifelong friendships, and memories I’ll carry with me forever. That’s why I’m so honored and excited to serve as President. It feels like the perfect way to give back to a program that gave me so much, not only to support the incredible students who are pouring their hearts into these productions now, but also to help keep this amazing tradition alive for years to come.

  • Vice President

    I came to the WHS Theatre Department as a student looking for belonging and left with confidence, purpose, and a second family. Theatre was where I found my voice and learned the power of being seen. Now, as Vice President of the Theatre Boosters, I’m proud to give back to the program that shaped me by helping Woonsocket students feel that same support. My goal, alongside many remarkable alumni, is to continue making sure every student in our community has a stage to stand on and a place to call home.

  • Treasurer

    WHS Theatre is like a home you can always go back to with a mom waiting with open arms. Jennifer Maiello is not only the director, but also teacher, mentor, confidant, and outlet for all her kids. It’s infectious the way she cares for the kids while bringing out their full potential. She is my role model for being the person I am today and a major reason I came into this role and continue to be apart of the WHS Theatre family.

  • Secretary

    I remember the first WHS show I saw was 42nd Street. It was then I KNEW theatre would always be a part of my life. Being in theatre helped me grow up and taught me what it’s like to work hard at what you love and care so deeply about. Also, the community and family that’s built by everyone giving their all to make magic is something I never want to forget. I want to help in anyway I can to have future theatre kids experience such magic. Because it truly is life changing. That’s why I keep coming back.

At the heart of Woonsocket High School’s Theatre and Dance Department is Mrs. Jennifer Barrette Maiello; an educator, artist, and community pillar whose dedication has shaped the program into a thriving creative home. With an extensive background in the performing arts, Mrs. Maiello has produced and directed more than 20 major productions at WHS, guiding thousands of students across the district to discover confidence, discipline, and joy through theatre and dance. 
Known for her ability to turn classrooms and rehearsal spaces into second homes, she ensures that every student feels seen and supported, whether stepping on stage for the first time or preparing for a career in the arts. Equal parts director, mentor, and chaos wrangler, she has a gift for balancing high expectations with heart, helping students grow into their best selves. Her passion for storytelling, commitment to excellence, and love for her students have made her the “bread and butter” of the program and a beloved figure in the Woonsocket community. Under her leadership, the department continues to raise the bar for high school performing arts while giving students a stage to grow, shine, and succeed.
